Kitchen Safety

Be aware and take care!
Cooking is fun, but it can also be hazardous. Practicing kitchen safety is a good habit to have, and you must not take it lightly.

A chef must be aware of what goes about their kitchen!
So here are a few safety rules that can help in preventing any future kitchen accidents :

1. Don't be a twit, wear an oven mitt
You need heat in order to cook, and our skin is sensitive to skin. So remember to wear oven mitts when handling something that is hot.

2. To avoid a scene, keep your workplace clean
Make sure you keep any dirty or harmful materials from contaminating your food. Separate foods to avoid cross-contamination.

3. Be aware of your kitchen wares
Knifes are sharp and dangerous, make sure that they are stored away safely in a place where no one can get hurt. The same goes for any other harmful materials.

4. When prepping food, keep it clean. A dirty surface should never be seen
Practicing hygiene is important, remember to wash your hands before you start cooking.

5. A spill, a slip, a hospital trip
Clean before you go, wipe any spills that you may have left.

6. If you are going to eat it later, then keep it in the refrigerator
Make sure to properly store your food, especially those that expire easily.
